Canto-pop singer-songwriter Justin Lo is back with a brand new album – his first since Justin in 2008. Proving that his pop sensibility is intact, this album features a number of hit songs that remind listeners of his early classics. The main plugs “Infinitely Big” and “Love Addiction” have already become chart-topping radio hits, and the aptly titled song “Duet” – a duet with teenage pop diva G.E.M. – is destined to be another karaoke favorite.

Gigi Leung – Gift [New album]

Hong Kong singer-actress Gigi Leung has shifted her focus to developing her career in the China and Taiwan markets in the last couple of years. In 2009, her romantic comedy Give Love (directed by Joe Ma, co-starring Wilson Chen) premiered on Valentine’s Day, and two months later, she continues the “giving” theme with her latest Mandarin album Gift. The new album marks Gigi’s first attempt at music production, and the titular track Gift is yet another showcase of her songwriting abilities, as she composed both the music and the lyrics. The CD contains 14 tracks, including nine new Mandarin songs and two in Cantonese.

Hong Kong pop star Leo Ku is going to attack audience eyeballs with his visual extravaganza Eye Fever 09 concerts at the Hong Kong Coliseum over six nights in April. His latest album Strings Fever is released to coincide with the event, only this will purely be a feast for the ear. This is Leo’s second audiophile CD after Guitar Fever in 2008, again using high-definition digital recording and postproduction as a foil to the singer’s exceptional vocals. Like last time, this album contains five new songs, namely Masterpiece (featuring internationally acclaimed cellist Trey Lee), All Because of You, Men and Women (duet with Shirley Kwan), Ran, and Try My Hands. The songs’ instrumental versions are included for a total of 10 tracks.

Eason Chan – H3M [New Album]

While still on the road doing the Moving On Stage world tour, Hong Kong top singer Eason Chan unleashes upon us his latest musical experiment – the Cantonese album H3M, a collaboration with his trusty tour band, with whom he has worked together for over a year. The H3M band is made up of Eason and nine other musicians including C.Y. Kong, Joey Tang, Pat Lui, and Anthony Sun. Each H3M member brings a song to this album, such as the first plug Allegro Opus 3.3am by Gary Tong, “700 Years Later” by Jim Lau, “Guilty Conscience” by Pam Chung, “What Else Can I Give You” by Davy Chan, and “The Sun Also Rises” by Yin Wong. Eason himself showcases his composing flair in the closing track “Salon” penned by lyricist Wyman Wong.

Kay Tse – Yelling [New Album]

The most awarded Hong Kong singer in 2008, Canto-pop sensation Kay Tse seeks to defend the crown this year with a slew of new projects. After starring in her first movie Love Connected and providing Cantonese dubbing for the anime hit Ponyo on the Cliff, Kay is set to hold her first solo concert at the Hong Kong Coliseum in May, and release her new album titled Yelling before that. The new album contains 10 songs, including her first chart-topping hit in 2009, “Zhu Yingtai”, the second plug “Song of the Year”, the concert theme song “Yelling”, and the Mandarin version of her 2008 mega hit song “The Street of Wedding Invitation”, re-titled “Farewell Party”.
